The John Waling Grant Program
The PTA is proud to continue the annual John Waling Grant program as a way to honor our beloved ACT18 teacher.
Two $500 grants will be awarded. One to a graduating high school senior who is an alum of the ACAT program; the other to a student completing 12th grade or the program at Garfield Community School who previously attended the RISE (ACT18) program.
Who can apply?
* For the ACAT alum grant, any student graduating from a Livonia Public Schools High School who attended Webster Elementary for two or more years and is a current PTSA member at their school.
The interested student submits the following: 1) a Letter of Recommendation, 2) completed grant application, and 3) essay, by the due date of Monday, May 15, 2023. Email .doc or .pdf entries to websterpta@gmail.com.
* For the RISE (ACT18) alum grant, any student completing 12th grade at a Livonia Public Schools High School or the program at Garfield Community School who previously attended the Webster Elementary RISE (ACT18) program. The interested student submits the following: 1) Letters of Recommendation from both a WWSC staff member, as well as someone in their community, 2) completed grant application and 3) either a video or letter outlining their plans for life after graduation, by the due date of Monday, May 15, 2023.
